Candidates may apply directly to the Consulate provided that they are over 50 years of age and are able to prove that they have an official monthly pension (social security or similar) in the amount of at least R$6,000.00 individually or for a family of maximum of 3 persons.
Documents needed:
1. An authenticated copy of your passport. In order to do that, you must declare before a local Public Notary (closest to your residence) that this is a true copy of your passport. Subsequently the signature of the Notary Public will be authenticated at your Consulate. Consular fee: R$20.00;
2. A certified copy of your birth certificate and of your marriage certificate (if married);
3. A recent (less than 90 days old) non-criminal record;
4. Proof that you have lived in the jurisdiction of the Brazilian Consulate in your area of residence for the last year;
5. A notarized letter from the institution responsible for the payment of your retirement pension. Consular fee: R$20.00 per document;
6. A notarized declaration from your local Bank agency that will be in charge of transferring your allowance to your bank account in Brazil. Consular fee: R$20.00;
