Tertiary education lasts from 3-4 to 5-6 years and is divided into academic and professional higher education (although this division is not institutionalized i.e. Universities and other institutions offer both academic and professional programs). The students are admitted to the higher academic institutions according to results of the centralized examinations; however, each institution has its own admission board and criteria. Upon completion of academic higher education one can get a Bachelor’s Degree (3-4 years) or a Master’s Degree (at least 5 years of university studies). Having completed the second level of professional higher education programs students are also awarded accordingly with Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees as well as get corresponding professional qualifications.
