To get a registration certificate a person should submit the following documents to the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (further OCMA) Central Division (Riga) or any other regional office:
1. An application form
2. Documents verifying the fact that a person:
- is employed in Latvia;
- is self-employed in Latvia;
- is a service provider;
- is a student of an educational institution registered in Latvia, possesses sufficient recourses for himself/herself as well as medical insurance/entitled to receive medical assistance in Latvia;
- a person possesses enough resources for himself/herself and is entitled to receive medical assistance/has a medical insurance in Latvia;
- a person is a spouse of a Latvian national or non-national or of a foreign national with the permanent right of residence in the Republic of Latvia, possesses enough resources for himself/herself and is entitled to receive medical assistance/has a medical insurance in Latvia;
- a person has established trusteeship or guardianship in the Republic of Latvia;
3. If children are intending to stay with one of the parents, the other parent should sign a letter of consent (certified by a notary).
All the documents should be submitted within three months, as of the first day of the entry as copies; the originals should be presented.
