It allows the stay for a 3 month period with multiple entries. There are some subtypes according to the reason of stay, and each one requires the following specific documents:
A) For medical treatment in official or officially recognized health facilities:
1. Medical report;
2. Certificate issued by an official or officially recognized health facility assuring hospitalisation or outpatient treatment.
B) In case of workers transfers between countries within the World Trade Organization (WTO) to provide services or training:
1. Documents certifying the transfer from the same company or group of companies.
NOTE: This visa applies to associates or subordinate employees for at least 1 year that are:
- Senior management with power to make decisions;
- Specific techniques essential in the business;
- Employees who intend to receive training.
C) To get a temporary subordinate employment or self-employment:
1. Employment contract or promise of employment contract (minimum 6 months);
2. Statement of the Portuguese Employment and Training Institute (IEFP – Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional) that the promise or contract concerns the supply available for third country nationals (subordinate work);
3. Partnership agreement or provision of services under self-employment.
D) To pursuit scientific research, teaching activity in higher education institution and highly qualified activity:
1. Employment contract;
2. Contract of service or scholarship of less than one year.
E) To pursuit amateur sports activity:
1. Document from the competent federation confirming the sports activity;
2. Statement of responsibility signed by the association or sports club on housing, health spending and costs by returning to the country of origin.
F) To remain in the country for longer than 3 months in duly substantiated cases, namely the implementation of international commitments:
1. Proof of exceptional situation;
2. Contract of services;
3. Skills certificate.
G) To accompany a family member submitted to medical treatment:
1. Proof of family ties;
2. Medical report;
3. Certificate issued by an official health facility or officially recognising the hospitalisation or the outpatient treatment.
