Volunteer Work – Temporary Visa

This category only covers activities undertaken on behalf of charitable organizations and these activities must not constitute employment of any form, paid or unpaid, with or without contract. Validity of passport should be for at least 6 months.

The first entry into Brazil must be made within 90 days from the date the visa is issued. It is the responsibility of the applicant to make sure the application is submitted accordingly.

It’s necessary to make your registration in the Marine Police, Airport and Borders Division (DPMAF – Divisao de Polícia Marítima, Aeroportuária e de Fronteiras) within 30 days of your arrival in Brazil.

Required documents:

1. Photocopy of the relevant pages of passport, authenticated by the Consulate;
2. 1 Visa Application Form completed and signed;
3. 2 photographs, passport size, colour, front view, no head cover, off-white plain background, taken within the last six months;
4. For applicants over 18 years of age, a certificate of non-criminal record. This document may be obtained at the Police Department in the city where the applicant has lived for the previous year;
5. Original letter of invitation from the Brazilian institution;
6. Document giving details of work place and type of activities to be carried out by the applicant;
7. A written statement from the Brazilian institution assuming full responsibility for the maintenance of the applicant while in Brazil and for his/her return to the country of origin;
8. Health insurance valid throughout Brazil;
9. Constitution of the Brazilian institution, social statutes, articles of association, appointment act or nomination of the current board of directors and proof of registration with the respective National, State, Federal District of Municipal Social Welfare Council (authenticated photocopies of current documents);

Note: The request must be presented to diplomatic missions, consulates or vice-consulates with jurisdiction over the city of residence of the interested party, along with the following documents, besides those required by the Law no. 6815, of 1980, and in the Decree nr. 86715, of 1981.

IMPORTANT

All visa applications should be instructed personally by the interested in the Consulate/Embassy of Brazil in the area of your residence. A proof of residence should be presented. Requests from foreign who don't reside legally in the country of origin are not accepted.
