Health Care in Chile
In the year 1981 the health care system in Chile was reformed. Then it was recognized the capability of individuals to choose freely their health system.
Active workers have the obligation to quote the 7% of their income to health care, but it is their own decision to choose between public (FONASA) and private (ISAPRE) health care. So, it is a mixed system.
