Mexico is the main tourist destination of Latin America and one of the most visited countries in the world. Along an extension of almost 2 million square kilometres, Mexico has a population about 112 million.
Mexico has many different climate zones, plant life and animals all around the country.
The official language of the country is Spanish and another 63 indigenous languages. The indigenous population of Mexico is the highest one (in absolute terms) of Latin America.
Business languages: Spanish and English.
There is no official religion in Mexico but over 95% of the people practice Roman Catholicism.
The United Mexican States are a federation whose government is representative, democratic and republican based on a presidential system according to the 1917 Constitution. At this time the current president is Felipe Calderón.
Mexican culture reflects the complexity of the country’s history through the blending of indigenous cultures and the culture of Spain. Mexican cuisine is known for its intense and varied flavors, colorful decoration, and variety of spices.
